A lot of Socialites, celebrities and serious buyers attended Pakistan Fashion Week 2012 which took off with a blast at Pearl Continental ( PC) in Karachi.
Fashion week was the country’s first and largest fashion show held by the Fashion Industry (FI). It was set up on a large scale because FI’s main focus was to gain recognition in the international fashion world where by the designers are taken as competitive professional designers and oh how the designers didn’t fail to disappoint anyone. Each designer had amazing clothes to showcase.
Everything from the ambience, the ramp, clothes and the makeup done on the models was amazingly done up.
Day 1 started off with FI showing seven designers: Bunto Kazmi, Sanam Chaudhri, Sanam Agha, Ayesha Hashwani, Pinx (Pinky), Arsalaan Yahseer and Maheen Khan.
Bunto Kazmi’s clothes were a combination of traditional and modern types of embroidery.
Sanam Chaudhry who is a relatively new designer exhibited bold and solid neon colours in her clothes. It was at this show when one of the models, Mathira, faced a wardrobe malfunction when her top fell down. Whether it was accidental or choreographed, she carried herself with grace as if this minor accident didn’t happen.
Ayesha Hashwani: clothes were mostly inspired from the Egyptian designs. She had mostly used three colours in her clothes; Black, Copper and White. And had added a lot of jeweled toned, cut work embroidered dresses at the show. On the whole it was a pretty decent fashion show.
Arsalan & Yahseer: Their collection was based on vibrancy and assorted colour combos with elegant cuts.
Sanam Agha: Her collection ‘Colour Chemistry’ contained a lot of bold and vibrant colors from the scorching sunrays to warm and dark colour combinations of the desert sand in Rajistan. Colours of red, brown, black, electric blue and orange were used along with fabrics of jamavaar chiffon, draped linens and plush velvet in the contempory were also displayed. Famous celebrity Noor Hassan also walked the ramp.
Maheen Khan: The collection was entitled ‘Elegant and Timeless Pieces For the Stylish Woman’. It was a lovely show where the clothes were all different and she had used elegance in her clothes.
Pinx: Pinx’s collection used a lot of silk and cotton gowns in a rich bright colour and elegant tassels, delicate lace, shimmery crystals and chunky stones.
